Samsung Wallet began rolling out USDC transfers on Solana to U.S. Galaxy users on Thursday, November 5, allowing them to send money across borders from the same application that holds their payment cards, boarding passes and IDs, SolanaFloor reported.

The rollout follows the Solana Foundation’s October 7 announcement that Samsung Wallet and Samsung Pay would support stablecoin transfers on Solana. The service covers approximately 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices and brings stablecoin transfers into an application users already know.

How Samsung Wallet’s USDC Transfers Work

Samsung integrated the feature directly into Samsung Wallet, allowing users to send USDC without managing a separate cryptocurrency wallet. Bastion provides the custodial infrastructure, with Coinbase serving as its sub-custodian through Coinbase Prime Vault.

Integrated fiat on and off-ramps convert funds between USDC and local currencies, while Solana handles transaction settlement. Users can send USDC to other Samsung Wallet accounts and compatible external wallets, as well as transfer funds to bank accounts in more than 60 countries. The service is initially available to eligible U.S. Galaxy users, with expansion into additional markets subject to local regulatory requirements.

Woncheol Chai, executive vice president and head of the Digital Wallet Team at Samsung Electronics’ Mobile eXperience business, said the company wants Galaxy users to move money abroad more quickly and easily without navigating the complexity of traditional cryptocurrency tools.

Solana Foundation President Lily Liu said stablecoins had the technology but lacked mainstream reach, describing the Samsung partnership as the point where they “stop being a crypto product and start being how people move money.”

Investor Takeaway

Samsung Wallet has begun rolling out USDC transfers to eligible U.S. Galaxy users, enabling cross-border payments through an existing payment application, with Bastion providing custody infrastructure and Coinbase acting as its sub-custodian through Coinbase Prime Vault.

Solana’s Stablecoin Growth And Samsung’s Digital Asset Plans

Solana’s stablecoin supply has climbed nearly 20% over the past year, while the network has processed more than $5.25 trillion in stablecoin transaction volume in 2026 alone, according to the Solana Foundation. Companies including PayPal and Western Union have also adopted the network for stablecoin-related activities.

Data from DeFiLlama ranks Solana as the third-largest blockchain by stablecoin supply, with approximately $14.915 billion in stablecoins on the network at press time. Circle’s USDC accounts for roughly 47.5% of the total supply.

Western Union launched Stablecard, a USDPT stablecoin wallet and Visa card, across 37 markets. FinanceFeeds reported that the Solana-based USDPT token had less than $6 million in circulation at the time, compared with the roughly $100 billion Western Union moves across borders annually.

Samsung first demonstrated native stablecoin support for Samsung Wallet at its Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22, showing USDC on screen without identifying an issuer, blockchain, custody model or launch date, as previously reported. The company had already partnered with Coinbase in October 2025 to give eligible U.S. Galaxy owners access to Coinbase One through Samsung Wallet.

Samsung SDS has also discussed stablecoin issuance, settlement and AI-based payments with Dunamu, the operator of the Upbit exchange, after Samsung affiliates acquired a combined 4% stake in the company. Samsung also named Sui as a network partner when it announced the service, with future features potentially extending to online and in-store stablecoin payments.

Investor Takeaway

Solana ranks third among blockchain networks by stablecoin supply, holding approximately $14.915 billion, with Circle’s USDC accounting for 47.51%, as Samsung expands its digital asset strategy through partnerships with Coinbase and Dunamu.
